Spinosaurus

A powerful Spinosaurus dominates the canvas in vivid fluorescent colour, expressive texture and bold black detail in this original artwork from the Primal Energy collection.

Its distinctive sail and elongated prehistoric form create a dramatic silhouette, while energetic layers of paint, spray effects, drips and hand-drawn marks bring movement across the surface. Bright contrasting colours break through the darker outlines, giving the dinosaur a charged, almost illuminated presence.

Martin Brennan combines controlled drawing with instinctive mark-making, allowing the recognisable form of the Spinosaurus to emerge from a chaotic and highly textured background. Fragments of the original underpainting remain visible throughout, adding depth and preserving the raw energy of the creative process.

Painted entirely by hand in Martin’s Birmingham studio, every brushstroke, splash and variation forms part of the finished artwork. Bold, contemporary and full of personality, Spinosaurus is designed to become a striking statement piece within a modern interior.
